First off, I really mean to blog more but it seems every time I go to write something down one of the trolls (i mean twins) wants to help! So quickly I will say we had a great weekend with my neice getting baptized and then a trip to the red barn in Santaquin for a wagon ride and pumpkin picking! The kids always have fun trying to find that perfect pumpkin and this year was no exeception. Afterwards we went and got some ice cream and of course chocolate covered cherries, because you can not stop at the barn and NOT get those! Thanks for a fun day. (we did miss you Thayer family!)

My awesome sister Christie suggested doing a pool party for the June and July birthdays in our family. So Grandpa Howie rented a private pool in Spanish Fork and we had a blast. Afterwards we went back to Christies for a yummy dinner and birthday dessert!! Happy Birthday Miles, Whiley, Chase, Brandon, Melissa and Preston!

Our Easter fun started off friday night when the family got here (minus Cam's little family). The kids had fun coloring eggs until someone (MASON) fell off the chair. So we headed home so the other kids could color them without the screaming noise of him. Saturday morning we headed to the mountains bundled in our winter coats to enjoy the day of target shooting, 4-wheel riding and roasting hotdogs and marshmellows. Nothing keeps the Allreds home on Easter Saturday. Afterwards we came home and enjoyed a nice dutch oven dinner. Sunday morning we all awoke to find that darn Easter bunny had hid the eggs outside in the rain. Thankfully the rain had stop earlier that morning. The kids had a great time looking for them! We ended the weekend with a wonderful Sunday dinner before everyone headed home. I am so thankful for my family and I love the times we share!!

Twins turn 2

Okay so I haven't kept my promise of blogging more often. So what's been up with the twins you are probably wondering. Twins turned 2 in March and I'm wondering where the time has gone!! We had a little party for them and they had a blast with their new toys and playing with their cousins. They are doing great, growing like weeds even though they are not even close to the 50% tile on weight or height but when you are born weighing 3 lbs what can the peditrician expect. They play great together and fight even better. Maddie is still not sleeping through the night :( I love everyday of my life with them (with or without sleeping, fighting, and yes biting)!! Here is just a few pics of their birthday.

I know it has been a long time since my last post but it seems there is just to many OTHER things taking its place. The twins are getting so big and so independent. They play so good together and yet play so good apart too. Don't get me wrong though they both have a naughty side to them as well. They are into that pushy (as Maddie says it) stage and Maddie bites when Mason ticks her off. Mason is easy going most the time but watch out when he's mad cause he also knows how to throw one heck of a tantrum. They still DO NOT sleep through the night (mostly Maddie) but they are getting better. They have gone a couple times to Nursery, Maddie loves it, Mason well lets just say it will take him a bit longer :) Things are just the same with me and Brandon. He still is working at the dairy (there has been alot of changes up there)and we are glad he still has a job as the econcomy has put the dairy business in a bind. He is not feeding anymore but doing alot more preg-checking and extremely busy with the upkeep on the equipment. I still LOVE being at home with the knotheads but I feel I don't have much of a social life. When I do get out it is a nice getaway from the twins and sometimes Brandon!! We look forward to a wonderful new year and wish all our friends and family a very MERRRY CHRISTMAS!! PS: I promise to do better with keeping you all updated.

So Mason was following me throughout the dentist office while we were cleaning, I had walked into another room and just as I walked back in I heard a snap and saw Mason's little finger in the mouse trap. I never thought he would find it because it was behind a picture on the ground that had been there for over 5 months. After cold water and of course a TREAT he was much better just one swollen little finger!!

TWINS TURN ONE

Mason and Maddie turned one on March 2nd, but we had their birthday party the Saturday before. We started with a great lunch and moved on to the fun. The twins had so much fun trying to open their presents and got a lot of fun toys and way cute clothes. There cakes turned out so adorable and the twins had fun tasting and smashing them. Thanks to all our family for the gifts, good food and being their to celebrate this special day with us!

The twins have really come along way within last month. They are both pulling themselves up and getting down. They are into everything and I mean everything. They love walking around the furniture as well as letting us help them walk. They are eating more "grown up" food and still thinks their sippy cups are for biting on. Mason is crawling like a big boy and Maddie is still army crawling. Mason still doesn't have his bottom 2 front teeth but Maddie has gone from 2 to 6!! We are getting ready to celebrate their first birthday on the 27th of this month and can not wait to see them dig into their smash cakes. Cassa Carter is making them some Mickey and Minnie cakes and I can not wait to see them!! Next time I update on the kids they will be one how crazy is that or maybe I should update more often!!

Thought I would post a few new pics of the twins at Christmas and their 10 month old pictures. We had a great Christmas and so far the new year is looking pretty good!! Mason is going great guns on crawling and now thinks that walking along the couch and big toys is pretty cool. Maddie is still trying to get the crawling down but loves scooting on her bum and rolling to get what she wants. They both love walking in their walker and can get about everywhere in it. They are still cutting teeth Maddie is behind in the count though. They are now switched to regular formula instead of soy HURRAY!!! Christmas was the best and they totally got spoiled. I had to post the pic of Maddie and her new doll. I think they look so much alike,brown eyes and all.(Thanks Aunt Christie) They also got new high chair-booster seats which they love sitting in. We look forward to an awesome new year with the twins turning one, new babies coming in our families and more fun times with family! Wishing you all a wonderful NEW YEAR!!

I honestly can not believe how time flies. They are growing so much in so many ways. Mason loves to army crawl, walk in the walker, eat and smile. Maddie loves jumping in the jumper, playing with toys on the floor and tormenting Mason. They both are cutting teeth. Mason has 4 1/2 and Maddie as 2. Maddie is smiling a lot more and they are both so activity. I absolutely LOVE being a mom. We had a great Thanksgiving with my family and can not wait for Christmas!!

Our first Hall-o-ween with the twins was so much fun! We carved their pumpkins Thursday night and then got costumes ready for Saturday. Maddie was so darn cute as a witch and Mason was a handsome black cat. They weren't sure about the costumes though. We got invited to go trick-r-treating with the Albrechts, Ropers and Stefanoff families and we had such a good time. We had the older kids take the twins bags up to the door to get treats. I really didn't think that they needed too, but friends insisted it was a must!! Thanks so much Kris and Nat can't wait until next year!! Afterwards we had a pumpkin stew dinner at my moms house.

We have been so busy the past month that it's about time a catch up on the twins. Mason had a little hernia surgery in August which he did amazing. He is FINALLY sleeping through most of the night. He has been rolling over for about 3 weeks and wants to crawl so bad but just can't do it. He loves about all vegetables and fruits but carrots and sweet potatoes do not agree with his little acid belly. Madison is doing great! She also loves vegetables and fruits. She still is feisty! But seems to smile a little bit more each day. She also loves to roll over but has no desire to crawl. They have new but used toys that they absolutly LOVE. Mason's is the activity center and Maddie's is the jumping swing. When she gets her little legs going it is so darn cute. We just found out that our final adoption is Monday and are so excited we can hardly stand it. Nothing new with me and BJ. We just got done with softball (wish we were still playing though) and are looking forward to co-ed volleyball. Thanks to everyone for their love and support. We have the best family and friends ever!!!

Allred fun last weekend!!

We had so much fun at the Allred Reunion up in the Ponderosa. Not only did we get to see tons of family but Grandma Olive got to add 4 new great grandkids to the mix. Only three are pictured but my cousins just adopted another baby girl last Wednesday!! And we are so exciting for them. Thanks to my family for all the help with the twins. We could not survive without you.

So Madison has decided that she likes rice cereal. HURRAY!! I knew it would be just a matter of time. Also we gave Mason a haircut. I know sounds crazy but I have a cousin who is a beautician and she told us to cut off the baby hair and it helps it grow faster. We did and what can I say he looks just like his dad!! BJ said we are NOT doing Maddies, will let hers grow as is!!

Well we have started the kids on cereal and what can we say--Madison hates it and Mason loves it even though you would think different because of the pictures! Hopefully Madison will get the hang of it. But on the other hand a friend told me to mix in sweet potatoes with her formula at night and she loves it. So thank you Becky for the great advice!! I know she will like cereal sooner or later, I call it being stubborn!!

Babysitters!!

Last week we had my sisters kids here while she had surgery on her shoulder. And can I just say what great babysitters they were. If they could live with me I would adopt them too!! Thanks Preston and Haley for helping me with feedings and just play with them, so I could get some housework done. Love you guys!

Weekend run down!!

What a fun and great weekend we had with our families. First of course we did the kiddie parade which the kids love to ride in. Then of course the big parade, which I need to thank my family for watching the kids while I got the parade entries registered. After the park fun we headed back to my house for swimming in the new pool Uncle BJ bought. The kids had a blast, as did Uncle Cam and Aunt Melissa. Sunday we blessed the twins and BJ did an amazing job, he is such a wonderful husband and DAD! We did a lunch with both families and had a great turn out and fun time just hanging out. Thanks to our families for supporting us on this special occasion!!

I can not believe how time flies when you're having fun!! The twins turned 4 months old yesterday and I was thinking back to when they were born and how fast they have changed. They are eating great and sleeping so much better. They are smiling and jabbering alot more! Hopefully they don't grow up to fast!

Just wanted to post a couple pictures that I took on Tuesday their 3 month birthday. Where does the time go? It seems like we were just in the NICU wondering if we would ever be able to bring them home and now we've been home for 6 weeks and things are going better than ever.(Most of the time) The twins are now going about 4 hours in between feedings, sleeping better at night, and are starting to smile and notice their names when we same them!! We have come a long way and look forward to what lies ahead!!

Well we actually came home on April 18th. And boy what a first few days. I truthfully said to BJ do you think we are cut out for this. TWINS what more can I say. I give all my thanks and love to my mom for coming over every morning the first week just so I could get some sleep. But I can finally say that things are working out a little bit better. They are on a somewhat schedule and are sleeping better during the night. We had wonderful people bring us dinner the first week and let me tell you it was most appreciated!! The doctors gave us an all clear signal for visitors so HURRAY!! We have snuck a few in but don't tell!! I can't wait to keep you all update on these precious miracles. And I promise to do better!!

We are on the count down to bringing home Mason and Maddie. The therapist told me yesterday that by Sunday or Monday we should have them home!! Also yesterday we did a 12 hour feeding request which means that the twins only got bottles (how ever much they would take) in those 12 hours. Nothing in their feeding tubes. And they both did great. Today they increased it to a 24 hour feeding request. So will see how they do. There is still lots to get done before they can come home. But mostly it is for me and BJ. We are trying to fit in a CPR class, a well care infant class and a overnight stay with the twins in a room at the hospital to make sure everything goes great with their feedings and their sleep.(without being hooked up to all the monitors). I really can't believe we're almost there!!

One of our nurses took these pictures on their 1 month birthday! I can't believe how much they've changed in that month. Mason is up to 6 lbs 12 ozs and Madison is up to 6 lbs. They are doing great. We are still out about 2 more weeks before we can bring them home. Their doing better on their bottle feedings but not good enough to come home yet!! Thanks to everyone for all their love and support.

Everything is going great. They are both in the same crib now, which is wonderful. Mason is now up to 3lbs 14ozs and Madison is 3lbs 7ozs. They have their central line out of the belly buttons, they have no IVs just their feeding tubes. We are trying a bottle every few days but no success, it is fine though because they really shouldn't be ready to bottle feed until 36 weeks. They both have a little heart murmur which they have because they are preemies, but the doctor says they will grow out of it between 3 to 6 months. They are both physically so healthy and we are so grateful. Thank you for all your calls, prayers and love. We have truly been blessed beyond measure.

We are so excited to let everyone know that our miracles have arrived and that all is well. Mason Joel and Madison Kay were born on March 2 at 12:49 and 12:50 p.m. Mason weighed in at 3lbs 8 ozs and Madison weighed in at 3 lbs 4 ozs. Yes they are definitly preemies but are doing great considering they are 7 weeks early. The NICU is so amazing and they have a wonderful team taking great care of them. We are not able to hold them just yet but hopefully within the next few days we will be able to. They got their feeding tubes today and seem to be a little bit happier. Thanks to all our wonderful families and great friends for your calls, prayers and text in our behalf, we could not have asked for better. We love all of you and will keep you posted!!

Weekend Fun!!

We had a fun weekend with all my family coming down to celebrate me and my dads birthdays.
Cam and Melissa brought their Wii and Guitar Hero, so needless to say we played that all weekend. The girls crafted on Saturday, while BJ, Ryan and Preston went goose hunting and my dad, Cam and Ben went target shooting. We had a great birthday dinner on Sunday. Thanks to all my family for making last weekend a blast!! We love you guys.

Me and BJ decided to take my neice and nephews (minus Ryker), to the new years eve party at the Palladium. The kids had a blast playing on the blow-up slide and bounce house. Afterwards we came home and starting our own party watching a movie and eating lots of popcorn!!
